Freeposting would result in an immediate ban? Or warning first? Not only asking this for me, but for current and future members. :)

Warning first =)
It will soon change to being a registered member for 7 days
I guess everyone is busy right now posting and getting mods :P

Strange rules. Freeposting is not allowed, but 20 posts are needed to download? What do people have to post then? 20 Thank you's or something?
It's just like the hide hack, it generates a lot of nonsense "thank you" and "let's have a look" reply's without getting what you really want, appreciation for the hack made.
So the removal of the hide hack is a good thing, but the 20 post count makes it status quo again.
Removal of attachments waits is a good thing and ofcourse appreciation for the hard work you did on the forums.:)

Very true in some parts black tiger, but if you post 20 posts in a row in less the 30 min for example. Thats considered running up the post count.
It has been added now that you do have to be a member for 7 days to use attachments, also stated in the welcome header when they first join.
This is to help them come back instead of joining and downloading one thing and never come back again =)
vBCoderz would never have posts on it, if there wasen't any requirement
As you see only about 2 people are over the count of 100 posts. If there wasen't any requirement. It would be a dead forum

I indeed read that you was planning to set being a member for 7 days. And I fully agree with you that this is a good thing to do. Now I hope they don't download everything after 7 days and then don't return, this forum deserves better, so I hope new users will stay too and hopefully more coders will join.
A requirement to post is no problem, but then the good way, not only "thank you's" and "let's see's" and stuff.
Since hacks are free, like on vb.org it's a good thing that also users give a bit of effort to keep the board running.
A serious posting once a while is the minimum. More is better. Appreciation should be shown, unless they rather pay for this kind of stuff.
Good job, well done!

Special thanks to Redline for taking the [hide] hacks out so they don't look ugly.
Will try this new way, see how things go. If there are new ideas that are better we will look into them =)

Just discovered a little problem.
When having subscribed to threads, you get an email when the thread is updated with this kind of text in it (in this case it's a subscribtion of the vbshout mod thread):
This thread is located at:
http://vBCoderz.com/showthread.php?t=19&goto=newpost
When clicking on this link I get a standard vbulletin "no permission" notice.
So something went wrong there because the original thread wasn't on the main vbCoderz.com page's showthread to begin with, it was under the mod section.
Maybe this can be fixed?
Or do we have to delete all subscribtions and make new ones?

On the subscription, did you put the Notification Type: to No Email Notification
And the Permission would be since your short of the 7 day registered date =D

Second one maybe.:)
I put the subscribtion type under my reply's and put them to "instant email notification" otherwise I would not have gotten any email, but i did.
And the Permission would be since your short of the 7 day registered date =D
That would be strange, because I could visit the mod pages the normal way by clicking on them. In that case only half of your security was working.:)
Anyway, it's working again now. But it's not very user friendly to disable these options for people that are member shorter then 7 days.
Beside that, it has no use because I thought you had disabled downloads for those users, why then to deny them to have a look at these forums? Or to have them use the subscribtion option when they will get the subscribtion emails and the links wont work? You will scare away users that way.
Would be already enough for me to leave, but happily I'm just 8 days member now.:)
No hard feelings, just trying to give some positive criticism.
